Creating a Thread

Threads simulates a conversation between you and your team, then organizes their answers for you.

Create a thread to get request simple or rich multimedia responses from your team. 

To create a thread in a collection, enter edit mode and click Manage Threads

On the Manage Threads page and click New Thread

Alternatively, you can select the content tab in edit mode, click + New Content, and select Thread.

Question

Ask a question or make a request. It can be as simple as “What did you learn from the project?” or request for monthly updates from your team. When you are done, click Next.

Response Type

Choose from multiple response types that will be combined into a single answer. Contributors can upload a file, write text, record their voice, or do all three. To require a response type, click the File, Text, or Voice buttons. Any type is selected by default and requires the contributor to choose at least one response type. The contributor has the option to add any nonrequired response types. When you are done, click Next.

Destination

Upon approval, responses to a thread will be added to this collection and be displayed on the content grid. For more information, see Reviewing Contributions. Additionally, you can have them automatically added to a series or milestone. If you only want responses in your content grid, click Next or Clear Selection.

Tags

Tags help build a collection that is easy to search and explore. Type a tag and hit enter to add it. Any tags you add in this step will automatically be added to responses when they are added to the collection as content. When you are done adding tags, click Next.

Message

This message is displayed when a contributor completes the thread. Feel free to add your team’s own twist. When you are happy with your message, click Next.

Preview and Share

Click Copy link and share it with the people you would like to complete your thread. You can send it in email, messenger, or post on a webpage. Remember, the person receiving your Thread must belong to the same organization as you. 

To see how your how your contributors will see the thread, click Preview Thread. Your submission in preview mode will not be saved.
